2008 Buoncristiani Malbec
There are some wines that help redefine your idea of a grape.
July 6, 2011
Jay Buoncristiani brought a sample of a Malbec is just that. it had the power of the best Mendoza Malbecs, but expressed with a clean linear finesse in both aroma and flavor that I have only tasted in two Malbecs before, both from Columbia Valley. Jay says that it comes from hillside fruit. Im not surprised, for it has the same austere delicacy that you find in higher elevation Tuscan wines, but never in Argentina. 185 cases made. Arrives Friday.
